STAFF WAS GREAT WITH THE YOUTH, NEW ADMINISTRATION TORE THE PLACE UP, FORCING STRONG STAFF OUT., CREATING A HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT WITH SOME STAFF. I FILED A GRIEVANCE AND WAS FIRED.
This facility is filthy and invested with bugs and rodents. It may sound hard to believe but recently there has even been snakes inside the facility due to holes and other uninsulated areas. My child was constantly ill because of mold and unsanitary conditions including the lack of hygiene among other residents. The dirty conditions gave the females a parasite that grew as worms in their stomachs, known as "pint worms." In addition to the unsanitary conditions, there is a SEVERE shortage of staff. The staff is also not trained properly so much to the point of raising concern for my child's safety. The youth get bribed with candy and kook aid before inspections so that there is less problem behaviors and a cleaner appearance. Youth has also reported sexual acts between staff and residents. Besides all of the safety and hygienic concerns a major issue is education. The majority of teachers are not legally qualified to teach and the level of proper testing and scoring is very low. This is a horrible residential facility, if more parents addressed concerns to their judges they would be placed in other facilities. As a detention center I am unaware of the successful or unsuccessful program, but when addressing these concerns to the court my daughters judge immediately ordered the removal of her placement. I cannot wait for this place to shut down.
